About Specialist Pain International (SPI)
When you’ve been injured or have been living with pain, it affects your life. It prevents you from working or from just getting around and performing the most basic daily tasks. Unresolved pain, in particular, can affect your personal relationships and keep you from social activities or any form of fulfilling life. It can cause despair and even depression, as it does for nearly a third of chronic pain sufferers. Specialist Pain International (SPI) clinic focuses in treating a wide variety of painful conditions from acute pain (post-injury and post-surgical pain) to chronic pain (chronic spine pain, nerve pain, chronic musculoskeletal pain, headaches) and cancer pain. At Specialist Pain International (SPI), getting you past your pain and improving your quality of life is our mission. We aim to provide comprehensive care, treating the whole person and working to resolve all types of pain with a multidisciplinary approach and with the most complete array of modern treatment options. It’s also why you won’t have to wait weeks to be cared for and will always be treated with honesty, respect and total commitment to your needs.
More is known today about pain than ever before, and there are many more treatment options. However, effective treatment can only be instituted if an accurate diagnosis can be reached. With the latest pain diagnostic methods, SPI emphasizes on the “why” in every chronic painful condition. After assessment, each patient will have a detailed management plan covering the immediate to the long term. Treatment can range from physical therapy to pharmacological treatments to minimally invasive procedures, an alternative to open surgery. All the minimally invasive pain procedures are done as day surgery – where patient can go home within the same day – with the strictest adherence to safety. In addition, an in-patient service is available to attend to referral for acute or chronic pain conditions.
Many general practitioners and specialists alike find themselves frustrated in their endeavor to provide relief to their patients in chronic pain. That’s why SPI simplifies the process with easy scheduling and a one-step referral process. We will handle all the exams and “diagnostic workups” so that your primary doctor doesn’t have to. These are the other ways that we try to facilitate your care.
