Pain: A major health problem with serious implications that can devastate lives

Untreated chronic pain can lead to major repercussions on your health. Affected individuals can suffer from reduced wellbeing, mobility restrictions, social isolation and anxiety. Almost one third of chronic pain sufferers also experience depression. In spite of this, undertreatment and lack of treatment are still prevalent in many parts of the world.
Head pain

Head Pain

Chronic head pain is defined as pain in the head region that persists for 12 weeks or more. It can be debilitating and significantly impact a person’s daily function and quality of life. Chronic head pain is not a single condition, but rather a group of disorders that would require firstly an accurate diagnosis.
back pain

Back Pain

Chronic back pain is defined as pain in the back that persists for 12 weeks or longer, even after the initial injury or underlying cause has been treated. It can be debilitating and significantly impact a person’s quality of life. Chronic back pain is not a single condition, but rather a group of persistent pain disorders that may stem from various sources such as muscle strain, disc problems, or nerve compression.
neck pain

Neck Pain

Chronic neck pain is not a single condition, but rather a group of disorders that may arise from muscle strain, joint issues, nerve compression, or degenerative changes in the cervical spine.
face pain

Face Pain

Chronic facial pain refers to persistent pain in the face that lasts for three months or longer. It can be severe and can deeply impact a person’s quality of life. Chronic facial pain encompasses a range of disorders—such as trigeminal neuralgia, temporomandibular joint (TMJ) dysfunction, and atypical facial pain—that persist over time and often require targeted treatment.
neuritis

Acute Neuritis & Acute Neuralgia

When nerves are irritated or inflamed, they can trigger sharp, burning, or electric-like pain. These symptoms are common in two related conditions:
  • Neuritis – inflammation of a nerve
  • Neuralgia – nerve pain that occurs even without visible inflammation
Both can cause sudden, severe pain that comes on quickly and can affect daily life.

Chronic Arthritis

Chronic arthritis refers to long-term inflammation and degeneration of the joints. One of the most common forms is knee osteoarthritis, where the protective cartilage in the knee joint wears down over time. This causes pain, stiffness, and difficulty with everyday movements like walking, climbing stairs, or even getting up from a chair.

Chronic Musculoskeletal Pain

Musculoskeletal (MSK) pain refers to discomfort that affects your muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons, or soft tissue. This type of pain is common, but when it lasts for longer than 3 months, it becomes chronic.
pelvic pain

Chronic Pelvic Pain

Chronic pelvic pain refers to discomfort in the lower abdomen or pelvis that lasts for three months or longer. It can range from a dull ache to sharp or burning sensations, and often persists even after initial treatments.
abdominal pain

Chronic Visceral Abdominal Pain

Visceral pain originates from the internal organs (e.g. stomach, intestines, bladder) and tends to be deep, dull, and difficult to pinpoint, often described as aching, cramping, or squeezing.

Frequently Asked Questions

What types of pain conditions do you manage?

We manage a wide range of conditions, including acute and chronic pain in the back, neck, joints, head, face, and nerves. If you’re experiencing persistent or recurrent pain, we’ll first assess your condition to determine the most appropriate course of action.

No, a referral is not required. You can contact us directly to book a consultation. However, if you have one from your GP or another specialist, please bring it along as it may help in understanding your medical history.

During your initial consultation, the doctor will review your medical history, ask about your symptoms, and may recommend diagnostic tests. Based on the findings, a treatment plan will be discussed with you.

Interventional treatments refer to procedures such as nerve blocks or image-guided injections that are used to help manage certain types of pain. These are typically minimally invasive and do not involve surgery.

Treatment options are determined after a thorough consultation and diagnostic assessment. The doctor will discuss available options with you based on your condition, lifestyle, and medical history.
